Removing scabs after the operation

Hello,

Recently I had hair transplant surgery and wanted to know about the risks associated with rubbing the recipient area scabs off.

I started rubbing them after 10 - 11 days. Most rubbed off pretty easily and fell off. Some of them were still attached by the old hair. I ended up gently pulling them off. The scabs came away pretty easily.

I didn't scratch the actual skin. I instead rubbed them and then pulled the little tops off.

A few of the post operative procedures state that you shouldn't scratch the scabs off. Why do they say this? I read somewhere that after 8 days this is to prevent infection rather than to prevent damage the new hairs. Is this true?

If you gently pull the scabs off after 10-11 days would it hurt your newly transplanted hairs?

You have nothing to worry about, actually you should rub the area after 10 days, we fully recommend it. The reason is like you said to clean the area from the scabs and that way you will avoid infection ext...
It is not a must do tho...you can leave the scabs until they will independently fall out and you will not have growth problems, it's your choice.
