| Attached are before photos of a Norwood Class VII patient who is visiting IHTI with a goal of creating total hair coverage from the front to the crown. To put this endeavor into perspective, a typical Norwood Class V will have roughly 180cm2 of bald/thinning scalp to cover. This patient has up to 270 sq. cm of baldness at a hairline of 8 cm above the glabella. In the initial procedure we will treat only 250 sq. cm. In addition, this patient has fine scalp hair, low follicular density (74fu/cm2), small follicular grouping, and limited surface area for donor harvesting. To put it quite simply this gentleman is not a candidate to traditional hair transplantation. Dr. Cole and the team are circumventing these problem by employing IHTI’s revolutionary methods of donor harvesting, namely Follicular Isolation (FIT) and Body Hair Follicular Isolation (BFIT/BHT). The patient will be receiving well over 10,000 grafts in his first session using body hair alone, and we will be updating you on his progress. In his second procedure in two weeks, we will treat an additoinal 20 sq. cm of bald area and build a new hair line. We will also add head hair to the area we initial treated with body hair alone. |
