Minoxidil or Propecia?

It has been one week since my 2200 FUT’s. To try to avoid shock-loss, should I take Minoxidil and/or Propecia? And, if so, is it OK to start Minoxidil now? My doctor suggested Propecia, however, I am only interested in avoiding shock-loss I do not want to be on Minoxidil or Propecia after the new grafts completely grow in.

Thank you
ED

Propecia and rogaine strengthen your hairs follicles .They are both recommended to decrease shock loss. You have to start before the procedure (around 5 months if possible) ,then you can stop Minoxidil at 3 months post-op and continue with propecia.

If you stop all of them you will loose the benefit of hair loss prevention.Eventhough you wo't experience shock loss ,you will start to loose your existing hairs and decrease the benefit you will get from both your surgery and medications.
