I'm currently taking advodart, green tea extract, daily mulit vitamin, and saw palmetto. Do any of these need to be discontinued prior to surgery? Also, what is the cutoff (if any) that you have to stop minoxidil prior to surgery? How about after the surgery?

Am currently taking a cycle of creatine as well. Will this have any detrimental effects?

Hi, if its not too late, I think you should stop any suplemnt which makes your blood thiner, as this makes it harder to place your grafts as you bleed more from your recipiant (nad donor) site. So EFA's B vitamins, most mineral are all out. I think creatine, might be good to suspend. Along with asprin, garlic, vitamin e ginko baboa etc.

Saw Palmaneto is ok tho as I asked a smart Dr about that one, as is green tea, exept in the 24 hours or so before your ht when you should aim to minimise your intake of caffine.

Not sure about minoxidil. I think you need to go for your ht without any on your scalp tho.

Thanks, sounds like I'm good. Hopefully the Doc will be able to transplant 5-6 donor hair grafts.

Hey Drew,

Good stuff, how come your after such full grafts? (5/6 hair) is that just becuse you have very thick hair and thus very dence fu's or just a desire for volume?

Just curious as I'm totlay won over by the 1 or 2 hair fu for a natural hairline!

Hi Fidcusleh,

Is it really... natural looking? Well, following the string I have had grafts at the Nobel Clinic with upwards of 5/6 hairs, and frankly no they arnt natural looking, the surface area of skin around the hair makes for a big graft with then getts squashed by the healing scalp to make those attractive 'palm tree' type tufts, so big grafts natural, I would say no.

But the work I have had with Dr Cole then absolultly yes, totaly natural looking. I genuinly cannot tell which hairs on my hairline are the ones he placed and which are hagging in there from birth, even when I use a bathroom mirror.
