The patient had 488 FIT grafts taken from the scalp, it was a 1 day session.
The grafts where placed all over the chin or as we call it the Go-Tee style.

Cool stuff, i wonder if making sites in the chin area is more difficult then in the scalp..there is more fat in that area then in the scalp?

I have almost identical missing patches of hair on my face as the facial hair transplant pictures shown here - the strip missing right down the center of the chin and the missing patch in the middle of my upper lip. I was wondering about the cost recovery time and perhaps a Surgeon in the New Orleans area.

this is a very common area where hair is lacking and the bearded look in this area is quite fashionable right now. this really is not that many grafts so the cost is not enormous.

i don't know anyone i would recomend in New Orleans, even before katrina. closest to you might be san antonio (dr. limmer).

Thanks Dr. Cole. I appreciate the quick response. I did get the name of one doctor in New Orleans named, Dr. John M. Yarborough Jr. from my Dermatologist yesterday. Have you heard of him? I tried to read up on him last night, and found a few little atricles. Sounds like he's in his early 70's and quite talented. What would you think the approximate costs for transplanting those missing patches of hair on my chin and lip? And how long before my face is free of blemishes from the ptocedure? Thank you for your time.

Brian

Dr. Yarbourgh has been around a long time. I did not recommend him simply because i am not familiar with his work. remember that hair transplant surgery has been with us since the mid-50s. for the first 40 years, there was very little change in hair transplant surgery. guys in their 70s now, were the ones doing hair surgery during that 40 year span. over that 40 year period numerous cosmetic disasters occurred. even though they were making people look like freaks, they did not do anything to modify their results. It was only in the 90s when guys like shapiro, limmer, wolf, and myself came along that the hair transplant industry finally said "wait a minute" we can make some guys look better. then slowly the old guys mostly changed. some didn't.

recognize that when i recommend someone, i do it because i know you can expect consistent, natural results because i have seen the results and i know the physician's methods well. when i do not recommend someone, it does not mean they do not do good work. Perhaps they do and perhaps they do not. If i don't know what you can expect, i will not recommend that person. if i know the results will be bad, i will tell you to avoid that person or that there are better options. in the end, it is up to you who you elect to perform this irreversible procedure on your face. it will be a result you will live with for the rest of your life and you will see it every morning when you look in the mirror. travel should be the least of your concerns.

ask to see his results. if you like them, then consider a procedure with him.

you will have scabs on your face for 7 to 10 days tops. your face will remain a little pink for up to 3 months.

use haircycle biotin spray to reduce the redness on your face and speed the healing process.

400 to 500 grafts is not really expensive. we charge by the graft.
